The Villavecchia Foundation supplies 7 apartments of temporary housing close to the principal pediatric hospitals
Like home. That is how we want the gravely ill children who, because of their current treatment, need to leave their home and move to Barcelona.
The Villavecchia Foundation now provides 7 apartments of temporary accommodative housing: three near the Hospital Vall d’Hebron, three near Hospital de Sant Pau, and one unit near Hospital Sant Joan de Déu. Out of these seven apartments, five are property of the Foundation (two of them have just been reformed thanks to two donators), and two have been given in an altruistic manner by their owners.
While families live in these apartments, the Foundation takes care of utility costs (water, electricity, etc.), as well as the maintenance and cleaning of the apartment so that parents can dedicate their time to what is most important: their children’s health.

The Foundation works with hospitals and Social Work teams to analyze and deduce the families that are in most need of these resources. In these cases, stays can extend to months or years, although the priority of these apartments is to see a rotation of families that are there only for the required time of treatment at their hospital.
With these apartments of temporary stay, we fulfill one of our main objectives at the Foundation, which is to help better the quality of life for families of children with grave illnesses, especially during the moments in which they have to face an environmental change to continue treatment and numerous hospital visits.
The apartment closest to Hospital Vall d’Hebron has three rooms.
