What makes our volunteer team at the Villavecchia Foundation so special?
Our volunteer team is a key element in developing the care programs for children and youth, and essential in lending support to families.
With their commitment and motivation, the volunteer team makes it possible for those who cannot financially support the Foundation to help out through their actions. They symbolize the capability to mobilize social change.
In the case of the Villavecchia Foundation, to volunteer in our organization is to commit to bettering the lives of children and youth with cancer and other grave illnesses.
Hospital volunteers from the Villavecchia Foundation at Sant Pau
We are supported by 300 volunteers every year. Some offer companionship and entertainment to the children of the Sant Pau Hospital, facilitating relaxing activities for families, helping in both play and hospital rooms, decorating the Pediatrics floor…Other people support in the domestic space, in all of the Catalan territories, offering companionship, fun, and relieving familial errands. The volunteer team is also important in the organization of activities, excursions, respite trips, and in programs like Estas Sol@, led by children and youth who have overcome cancer and its aftermaths.
Home-based volunteers from the Villavecchia Foundation
A deeply valued volunteer team. In order to analyze and better our care services, we make sure that families are heard through evaluation questionnaires.
A structured and attentive volunteer team. We conduct interviews and screenings, offer courses, resources, and workshops for the most optimal volunteer experience, and so the children and families receive the necessary support.
An active and dynamic volunteer team. Joy is a right for every child, even those who are gravely ill. That is why we organize many curated activities, in which the volunteer team plays a fundamental role.
