Good news at “Pabellón de la Victoria” (Victoria Pavilion)

12 · December · 2025

Thanks to your support, we have obtained 90% of the funding necessary to cover the transformation of the building and create a pioneering children’s hospice. We also share additional good news.

In October of 2024, we shared the start of the first phase of development at Pabellón de la Victoria: the restoration of the facade and deck. This phase has concluded (as we share in this news article) and are now able to start the second phase: the integral transformation to the interior spaces of the Pavilion, which we hope to finish in a years’ time. Each day we are closer to opening its doors to the world!

At the same time, we are working in the care model of our future center, the services and human resources that will be needed, with experts from the Department of Health, Education, and Social Rights of the Geralitat, with the assistance team of Sant Pau. Between all parties, we define how the center will operate.

The members of the Catalonian Parliament’s Commission of Health have listened first-hand the details of the project. Anna Varderi, director of the Fundación Villavecchia, has explained why this center is necessary.

The Pabellón de la Victoria will be a grand example of architecture that provides care, and the project will be included in the program of Barcelona 2026, World Capital of Architecture. We will be able to give more details soon.

In the meantime, our Family Consultation continues to be an incredible guide to thinking and designing the spaces of our future center, and various children’s hospices across the world will provide their support week by week and help resolve any issues.
