The biggest Sant Jordi’s fundraising brings in 31.286 euros for the Villavecchia Foundation
Thousands of people showed up for another year to the Foundation’s stand in the center of Barcelona, with various companies sponsoring a special video for the Sant Jordi celebration.
The corner of Rambla de Catalunya and Consell de Cent, in Barcelona, has become the epicenter of solidarity for children with grave illnesses this April 23rd. Thousands of people showed up another year to support the Villavecchia Foundation, helping us raise a fundraising record of 31.286 euros (with the sum of roses, rose arrangements, books, and stationery sold, as well as the sponsorship of the Sant Jordi video). Roses and rose bouquets for the Villavecchia Foundation’s Sant Jordi stand
In the stand we had roses (including real ones), hand-made wooden puppets, crochet roses, Sant Jordi bookmarks, and other solidarity gifts. We also brought face-painting services for the children, as well as the sale of the books “Sports Solidarity Storeis” and “La vida fantástica” (¨The Fantastic Life¨), with all benefits going to the Foundation’s programs.

Like in previous years, we have also released a special Sant Jordi video, sponsored by various sponsoring companies standing in solidarity. The video revolves around various children who have been assisted by the Villavecchia Foundation sharing what this emblematic holiday means to them. You can watch the video here:
The success of the stand has been possible thanks to the help of all our technical team at the Foundation and our volunteer team, with a special thanks to the fifteen collaborating companies and entities, as well as the thousands of people that stopped by to help support our care programs for children with cancer and other grave illnesses. Additionally, during the Sant Jordi celebration we have also decorated the Pediatric wing of Sant Pau’s hospital, with drawings of roses and a great dragón made of carton hanging from the ceiling. We have also donated books and notebooks as gifts for the hospitalized children, contributing in always involving the young ones in celebrations that are partaken by everyone in solidarity. We thank the Pediatric and Infirmary Care team that have helped us in celebrating Sant Jordi in the recinto.
