Santa Claus rappels down once again at the Villavecchia Foundation
It is the second time in history that Santa Claus rappels down to the installations of a catalan hospital. The visit occurred at Hospital Germans Tias i Pujol (Badalona), with the support of the Villavecchia Foundation and Solidarity Firefighters of Barcelona.
Like last year, Santa Clause has rappelled off the building of general hospital Germans Trías i Pujol all the way to the maternity-childcare building, trekking a distance of 64 meters from the altitude of 14 floors. The spectacular feat has been reported on by various forms of news media, who did not want to miss out on this exciting visit.
For his second act, Santa Claus hung from the building’s maternity-childcare building and lowered down to the windows of the Pediatric floor, where he greeted the young patients and their families, delivering gifts from “Sonrisas de Chocolate” through the windows, the official chocolate solidarity partner of the Villavecchia Foundation, prepared by Torres.
There is no other hospital in the State where Santa Claus accomplishes this rappelling act, which makes this visit the most anticipated visit of the season. This activity is also in collaboration with the Firefighters of Badalona.
The moment in which Santa Claus rapples down to greet the children
After visiting the children of Hospital Germans Trías i Pujol on the morning of December 18th, Santa Claus also visited the children in Hospital Sant Pau of Barcelona the morning of December 19th. In this case, there was also a rappelling act down to the Pediatric floor and afterwards an entry into the hospital for the gifting of solidarity chocolate and various toys. Additionally, the Villavecchia Foundation also organized a visit by the “Tío” in Sant Pau, bringing small fits to the pediatric patients.

With the organization of these Christmas initiatives, the Villavecchia Foundation not only wants to help children with illness and their families feel supported during these times, but also wants to thank the work of healthcare personnel who have supported the pediatric patients year-round.
