Foundation activities

The promotional activities done by the Foundation are aimed at raising funds to cover shortages as well as money for developing projects that would not be possible without extra funding from outside the Foundation.

Throughout the years, the following activities have been used to raise funds for the Foundation:

• Plays
• Concerts
• Cinema Premieres
• Sports Exhibitions
• Fundraising Dinners and Parties
• Raffles and Charity Appeals in shopping centers in affluent areas
• Mail Out of an Annual Activity Report
• Selling Roses in front of the Palau de la Generalitat (Seat of the Catalan Central Government)
• Selling Christmas Lottery tickets
• Selling Christmas Cards
• Greetings from the Foundation

ACTIVITIES AIMED AT RAISING AWARENESS OF SOCIETY

Most of society is well aware of the existence of adults suffering from cancer, but it is still not sufficiently cognizant of the high number of children suffering from the same illnesses. Nor do they know about the reality these illnesses bring with them. One of the objectives of the Foundation is to sensitize society to the reality of children with oncological illnesses. In Catalunya alone about 300 new cases are diagnosed each year.

Some of the activities aimed at raising awareness in recent years have been:

• Presentation of The Foundation at different collectives:
  - Edition of the book "El Futur Existeix" (The Future Exists), thanks to the invaluable collaboration of Tino Soriano
  - Travelling Exhibition of the photos from the book "El Futur Existeix". This exhibition has been shown throughout Catalunya.
  
  
• Talks about:
  - The Children, silent needs
  - Schooling the Child with Cancer
  - Course: Teaching about life, teaching about death
  
  
• Presence in media:
  - Newspapers: La Vanguardia, Magazine (La Vanguardia), El Periodico, ABC Catalunya, El Mundo Deportivo, etc.
  - Magazines: Hola, Lecturas, Semana, Diez Minutos, Clara, Hogares, La Casa de Marie Claire, ¿Qué me Dices?, Mía, Pronto, Mi bebé y yo, Guía del   niño, Cambio 16, Especial Patrones, etc.
